I lift weights every week usually just a full body workout on a sunday...2 sets with machines for all muscles groups. The same day and two days after lifting weights I find my touch on the guitar is off! I find my fingers thicker and I'm often not as smooth in execution... often times I find I don't have as much dexterity in my hands for the lead guitar pieces I work on.
Then by Tues the pump is completely gone.. I find my touch returns and even if I do cardio sessions during the week my touch is fine.
The simple solution is to lift weights Sun and then on tues, wed, thurs, fri play guitar... I like to go out on Sat's.
But aside from playing this waiting game for my hands to return to fine tuned movements is there any way around it?
I like to take care of my body.. I don't lift that much not like some bodybuilder....
How many other people find this same problem. Please advise.
