Request for more song lessons

Hamza Kamal posted this 10 December 2015

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there is a thread where we can request lessons for songs. I know doing a full dvd on any artist takes tremendous amounts of time and is tough, but i really like the idea of the single song lessons that are otherwise not found on dvd's (for example Led Zeppelin's "The Ocean" ).

Thanks a lot.

Dear LickLibrary,

I would like to know if there can be a new section in your school related to gothic/black metal: type o negative, cradle of filth, dimmu borgir, immortal etc....and secondly whether it's possible to request/include a particular song lesson in your songs' lessons list - "Painkiller" by Judas Priest

Thank you

Love the Danny Gill DVDs!! I was lucky enough to study with him on occasion at GIT...Hey Danny: any chance you might treat us to works from some of the following: (I think these guys are generally under represented)

Vito Bratta (White Lion)

Bruce Kulick era Kiss

Nuno Bettencourt (circa Extreme)

Michael Wilton and Chris DeGarmo (Queensryche)

and the guy that gets absolutely NO respect in most publications: Jake E. Lee (both Ozzy and Badlands material)

and keep up the GREAT work!!

Please put up more single song lessons up!

For example Back For More, The Ocean, I Love Rock And Roll etc......have been great, but we want to see much more & more often!!!

Lick Library should be leading the way with constant song lessons being made available!

Lick Library should also start adding vocals to the backing tracks. It's 2016 people & we are used to jamming/recording along to guitar backing tracks with the vocals added.

Get your act together guys!

Hello, When do you go out one or two DVDs on Uli Roth ? Uli Roth influence many guitarists and you go out only one Dvd of scorpions without any song of Uli Roth, it's incomprehensible!!!

You could go out a volume 1 with: 1- Dark lady 2-We'll burn the sky 3-Sails of charon 4-Catch the train 5-Top of the bill 6- He's a woman she's a man

and a volume 2 with: 1-Virgin killer 2-Speedy coming 3-Picture life 4-Longing for fire 5-Polar night 6-All night long

Like this we will cover many of his amazing work.

Your Rainbow's Dvd is only on the beginning of the band, except all night long on Blackmore's solo!!!

Now you could go out a volume 2 with: 1- Spotlight kid 2_Surrender 3-Death alley driver 4-stone cold 5- Street of dreams 6-Still i'm sad (not the instrumental that is on your DVD but version on Stranger in Us All album, which is amazing)

And a volume 3 with : 1- Long live rock'n roll 2-Power 3- Strastruck 4- since you've been gone 5-all night long

I hope that I could buy sooner these new DVDs and I'm sure that many guitarists will buy these DVDs and thank you!!

Yes It will great one or two new Malmsteen's DVDs with his early songs which are more complex and interesting: 1-Now Your Ships Are Burned 2-As Above, So Below 3-Little Savage 4-Disciples of Hell 5-Soldier Without Faith (amazing solo) 6-I Am a Viking 7-Marching Out

I see the light tonight is already on the first DVD (with black star, far beyond the sun…)

Yes it is incomprehensible, no DVDs of Uli Roth. I'm ok with the listing:

Volume 1 with: 1- Dark lady 2-We'll burn the sky 3-Sails of charon 4-Catch the train 5-Top of the bill 6- He's a woman she's a man

Volume 2 with: 1-Virgin killer 2-Speedy coming 3-Picture life 4-Longing for fire 5-Polar night 6-All night long

All the best

Prince died yesterday. He was a pretty good guitarist, although he was known as a vocalist. I would like to see a Learn to Play Prince. I think Danny Gill might be the one for it.

Lick library needs to put up a new song lesson with backing track & performance every week.

Not a song lesson taken from an already existing learn to play or jam with DVD. I'm talking song lessons of songs not included in any DVD release.

Is this going to happen???

How about some lessons on Rival Sons! Open My Eyes is a great song. There is an acoustic version that is in an open tuning that is really cool. Keep On Swinging is another one. Lots of great riffs.

What about some Doug Aldrich? There is so much you can do from Lion, Hurricane, Bad Moon Rising, Burning Rain as well as his solo stuff like Face Down (Killer Song).

Cheers.

I hope that the next Classic albums DVD series will be the album Rising force, 1984 and Marching out 1985 by Yngwie Malmsteen, which were the beginning of a new step!!!

I'm not very good at figuring out slide playing. It's great that Danny taught us the melody for Freebird with slide guitar. But there is a lot more to the slide part than that! I would feel stupid playing that song without playing the slide buildup to the solo. Maybe someone(maybe Danny!) could teach a lesson for purchase to learn these important licks?

I was into the punk back in the day, big stooges fan, I do have a wide range of taste. Some Tracy Chapman would be good for the acoustic section. Cheers
