My favourite drummer of all time is John Bonham his contribution to Led Zeppelin was groundbreaking to say the least. The intro to When the Levee Breaks is the most sampled drum piece ever!!!.. enough said.

Bonham's When the Levee Breaks part has definitely been sampled loads, but I think you'll find that Clyde Stubblefield's (James Brown's drummer) Funky Drummer part and The Winston's Amen Break would probably claim the crown for the most sampled drum breaks of all time when you look at the number of mainstream and underground tracks those two loops have featured over the last 30 odd years or so.
Just as my post about my favourite bassists, I have numerous drummers I have the up-most respect for, including Bohnham, Stuart Copeland, Steve Gadd, Dave Grohl, Phil Gould, Jeff Porcaro, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Billy Cobham, Jojo Mayer, Taylor Hawkins, Gary Husband....again I could go on but I think that's enough to be getting on with for now!

The legendary Ronnie Tutt is my all-time #1 favorite drummer. Hands down. After that it would be:
Harry Stinson (Marty Stuart & The Fabulous Superlatives)
Paul Martin (even though he was bassist for the country group, Exile, and most recently was Marty's bassist for seven years, I saw him play drums on an episode of Marty's former RFD-TV show)
Mick Fleetwood
Steve Gadd
Bonham
Gene Parsons (ex-Byrds drummer)
Kenny Aronoff
Lars Ulrich
Artimus Pyle
Owen Hale (former Skynyrd drummer)
Michael Cartelleone (Skynyrd's current and longest-lasting drummer)
